Call for Candidates
The Villanova University Alumni
Association seeks candidates for consideration for its
Board of Directors.
Self-nominations are encouraged.
About the Board of Directors
The VUAA Board of Directors
establishes the overall strategic direction for the Alumni Association,
represents the VUAA within the University community and provides advice and
counsel to the staff. Board members interact with administrators, faculty, staff
and alumni to increase their knowledge of the Alumni Association and to advocate
for current and future needs and goals.
Board of Directors Responsibilities
Individual Board members act as
representatives for the Alumni Association and should be knowledgeable of all
VUAA programs. Board members are assigned to serve on at least one committee and
to lend their professional expertise as needed.
The Board seeks directors who have
supported alumni involvement through the VUAA or elsewhere in the University,
regularly participate in the Alumni Annual Giving program and support the Alumni
Association's mission. The Association matches identified needs of the Board
with the skills of prospective candidates and strives to create a body that
represents the diversity of the Association's membership.
The Board of Directors meets three
times per year, in the fall, winter and spring. Meetings begin at noon on Friday
and conclude by noon on Saturday. Attendance at board meetings is critical, so
dates are scheduled well in advance. Board members serve a maximum of two 3-year terms.
