Frequently Asked Questions

QUESTION: Why is the endowment important?

ANSWER: It helps provide a predictable resource stream that ensures funding for key strategic areas and it makes the University less dependent on tuition revenue. Endowment funds allow Villanova to provide access to a high quality education to a growing number of highly qualified students who might not otherwise be able to afford to attend the University. The endowment also supports continued recruitment and support of the best available faculty and the implementation of innovative academic programming. QUESTION: Why should I contribute to Villanova?

ANSWER: The rewards for giving vary depending on the individual. Many donors speak of the importance they place on giving back, knowing that many who came before them made donations that made their education possible. Often alumni, parents, and friends feel that a gift to Villanova is an investment in the future not only of an institution they value and the students who learn here, but also in the future of the wider community that will be touched by the Augustinian values of compassion and care that are carried into the world with each graduating class.

QUESTION: How do small donations help?

ANSWER: Every dollar that someone contributes to Villanova is a dollar that allows the University to (1) improve access to qualified students, regardless of ability to pay; (2) recruit and support strong teachers; and (3) expand and improve the physical plant and information technology infrastructure. In addition, each donation, regardless of amount, demonstrates to potential funding sources and national surveys that Villanova is considered to be a worthy investment by those who know it best—alumni, parents, and friends.

QUESTION: How do I include Villanova in my financial planning?
