Earning a Master's degree, pre- or a post-master's or certificate in biology
from Villanova is an enriching experience, whether you plan to use your degree as
a stepping stone to further graduate or professional study, a launching pad to a
career in the biological sciences or as a way to enhance your existing career with
new skill sets. This is a challenging program that offers opportunities for study
and research at all levels of biological complexity from laboratory-based molecular
investigations to field-based studies of organisms and their environments, both
in the United States and abroad.
Regardless of your focus, the program will enhance
your quantitative, analytical, and written and oral communication skills. As a graduate
student here, you will work in our recently remodeled and expanded research facility,
fully outfitted with electron microscopes, DNA sequencers, and computing and visualization
resources.
Two master's degrees are available at Villanova: a Master of
Science (with thesis) and a Master of Arts (culminating
in a comprehensive exam). In addition, two Certificate
programs, the Certificate and Advanced Certificate of Graduate Study in Biology,
are available. In addition, pre- and post-master's certificate programs are available
in both Cell, Molecular and Development Biology, and Ecology, Evolution and Organismal
Biology.
