The first step in applying for national fellowships and grants is identifying
the fellowship programs and funding organizations to which your research interests
are best suited. In order to assist you in identifying these programs, we have created
a list of some of the most well-known National
Fellowships and Scholarships, as
well as a list of databases for searching for
Tuition Grants and
Post-Baccalaureate
Opportunities. These lists also include links to each program’s website which will
provide the most specific information for guiding you through the application process.
Once you have determined the fellowships, grants, or other opportunities for which
you consider yourself to be best suited, it might be helpful for you to discuss
your particular research interests and possible proposal with one or more faculty
members within your field as they will be best equipped to alert you to the “do’s
and don’ts” of the field. Conversations with faculty will likely be the most helpful
tool in guiding you to refine your proposal and to employ the most precise language
possible in the articulation of your intended project. Check out our tips for

Faculty Assistance.
