What we are
The Graduate Student Council is an interdisciplinary organization, peers with
a common interest: the efficiency and credibility of our graduate programs
at Villanova. To this end, we facilitate the procedures and activities of
Liberal Arts and Sciences Graduate Studies.
We look to render University affairs accessible to graduate students and our
specific departments. We regard representing our departments in the
University as a continuing and progressive movement, believing that the change,
productivity and community atmosphere we generate will persevere into the
future.
What we do
- Provide Orientation for incoming students
- Mentor prospective students through phone contacts and graduate fairs
- Update departmental advisement manuals
- Sponsor seminars pertinent to all University students
- Represent Graduate students on the University Senate, Academic Policy
Committee and the Villanova Quality Improvement Committee
Service Activities
- Coordinate an annual clothing drive for Philadelphia Employment Project
- Organize University Community donation programs for Devereaux
Foundation, Catholic social Charities, and Saint Patrician Society
- Work with local businesses to enhance graduate experience
Social Activities
- Get to know fellow graduate students
- partner with Graduate Alumni Association and cultivate continued
connections with Villanova
- Celebrate annual Christmas parties and spring picnics
