A number of policies and procedures are in place in the College of Liberal
Arts and Sciences to help ensure that you realize your academic goals in
accordance with the rules and regulations of the University. You are asked to
familiarize yourself with them. As St. Augustine reminds us: "Let knowledge be used as a kind of scaffolding to help
build the edifice of love and understanding, which shall endure forever even
after knowledge itself shall be destroyed."
— Epist. 55,22,39
As a student in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, you are part of a
learning community which draws upon the legacy of St. Augustine, whose own
pursuit of knowledge was characterized by open, intelligent, and respectful
interaction with various points of view. The College offers its programs in the
liberal arts and sciences in the hope that they will foster an awareness of
moral, religious, and humanitarian values which are necessary for the total
growth of the individual.
Please know that the faculty, staff, and administration of the College, with
your cooperation, are eager to help you attain these goals.
