The
purpose of this Student Guide is to provide you with a convenient resource
to quickly obtain information on Registration,
Academic Support, and instruction to run the web-based
degree auditing tool, CAPP (Curriculum, Advising
and Program Planning). Additional useful information is listed below.
Places to Study
We all have different
learning styles. Identifying that style will help you determine which learning
environment suits you best. Factors to consider include noise level, pedestrian
traffic, comfort, temperature, lighting, distractions, etc.
Once you have identified
the environment where you are able to concentrate, the key is to plan your
day so you perform your hardest tasks at your peak performance time and
your easiest tasks at your least preferred or least productive time.
Time Management
Developing time management skills is a journey that requires practice
along the way. It is important that you become aware of how you use your
time as a resource in organizing, prioritizing, and succeeding in your studies
in the context of competing activities with friends, work, family, etc.
The University has many resources to help you improve your
study skills.

Commuters
The Campus Activities
Team (CAT) was created in 1972 in an effort to more fully integrate
commuting students into the Villanova campus community. CAT is the primary
student organization for all campus student programming, offering a great
way to get involved in planning events such as concerts, guest speakers,
comedy routines and more. CAT also sponsors a series of events and lunches
for commuting students.
Commuting students are also invited as freshmen to participate in
The
Villanova Experience for commuters. The Villanova Experience is a learning
community designed especially for first-year commuting students to help
them meet other people with the shared experience of living at home while
making the transition to college life. Students take their core humanities
class together and also meet once a week to develop interpersonal and leadership
skills as they learn about Villanova. The program offers the opportunity
for students to build meaningful relationships with faculty and staff, forming
a community both inside and outside of the classroom.
