The Office of Academic Advising in the College of Liberal
Arts and Sciences is pleased to offer workshops for students to enrich their academic
experience. These workshops include time management, study skills, and other academic
essentials. Time Management is one of the most important components of a student’s
academic success. As you make the journey from high school to college, your classroom
experience may be drastically different. Study skills are another important area.
Many students have to change the way they study once they attend college. The purpose
for these programs is to provide ongoing support to enrich your academic experience.
Goal Writing for Success
This is a self motivating workshop that will assist you in creating your
academic and personal goals for this year. You will learn why it is important to
write goals that will work for you. These goals include both short and long term
with extensive details. You will leave this workshop with a well developed
action plan that will be easy for you to follow and aid in your academic
success.
This workshop will be offered again during the Spring Semester.
Time Management Workshop
This workshop will provide specifics to assist you with scheduling all of the
important things for college success (from classes and studying to service and
socializing).

during the Spring Semester.
Are You A Strategic Learner?
If not, attend this interactive workshop and learn how to
become a strategic learner. We will work on issues that include: motivation,
time management (balance), stress & anxiety, strategies, and procrastination. We
will work on decision making skills as well as strategies that will best assist
you in your academic journey.
This workshop will be offered again in the Spring Semester.
It's Not Too Late
Are your grades suffering? Did you earn C-‘s & D’s or
WORSE on your mid-terms? During this
workshop we will discuss how you earned your current grades, motivation to get
higher grades, and a plan of action that includes time management and study
strategies to get you back on track.
This workshop will be offered again in the Spring Semester.
Coming To Your Classroom This Fall….EXAMS!
Do you ever get stressed with the thought of exams? Do you
have a study plan that works for you? Do you succumb to procrastination when you
should be studying? If you answered yes to any of these questions you should
plan on attending this workshop. We will review strategies to assist you with
objective and essay exams. We will teach you strategies to reduce test anxiety.
Most importantly we will teach you how to learn from your mistakes.
