Welcome to the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Internship website.
This portion of the site is specifically designed for you, the employer, to
understand the internship program, student application process and invite you to
offer placement with your company, if appropriate, for our students.
1. Student internship application process
Students go through a rigorous application process in the College of Liberal
Arts & Sciences in order to be approved for an academic internship.
Requirements:
- In order for a student to complete an internship for academic credit,
the student must have a 3.0 GPA for fall and spring, and a 2.7 for the
summer
- All students interested in completing an internship for academic credit
must complete the online application which includes writing a two page essay
outlining their career aspirations and goals for the internship. They must
also submit a current resume.
- Internships for credit are available to A&S students who have completed
their sophomore year or have junior status based on the number of credits
they have completed.
- Internship credit is granted through the student's major, minor or
concentration, but it is also possible for a student to complete an
internship that falls outside of these categories for free elective credit.
2. Villanova Commitment to Employers
At Villanova University, The College of Liberal Arts & Sciences is
committed to providing our external partners exceptional students' willing
to demonstrate their academic classroom knowledge in the working
environment. Historically, employers are thoroughly impressed with the level
of commitment and achievement Villanova students' provide in their
internship opportunities, but should their be any specific situations that
are not representative of the quality of work deemed appropriate by the
College or the supervisor, either are encouraged to speak with Rina Ebert,
Director of the Program, to ensure improvement and immediate action.
3 . Submit employer information for internship
opportunities
Employers who are interested in offering internships to Villanova Liberal
Arts Students' should submit an email with an attachment to Director Rina
Ebert (Rina.Ebert@villanova.edu
) with the following information:
- Company information and overview
- Internship title, description, responsibilities & duties
- Time commitment
- Stipend
