Research Storage Space

The College of Liberal Arts provides space on our SAN server (Storage Area Network) to store research related data. The advantages of this system are the ability to access the data from multiple computers, the redundancy of the server hard drives (RAID 5 array and backup to tape) and security permissions.

REQUEST FOR RESEARCH DATA SPACE FORM

Please fill out the form correctly to request research space on the server. If you only need to store Word, Excel, Powerpoint files and/or need many students to access your research or labs files, SharePoint may be a better alternative.

I would like the drive to map automatically (for lab computers only- requires Windows XP and your computers to be in the VUAD domain).
Usage Agreement (Required). I acknowledge that this space will not be used to store personal, non-research related files, in particular image, music and video files (unless research-related).
Maintenance Agreement (Required). I acknowledge that I will routinely remove and, if necessary, archive files off of the research space that are no longer actively needed.
