This year’s Christmas tree in the Mendel Science Center, a beautiful Fraser fir, was kindly donated and delivered by Cline and Ellen Church of Cline Church Nurseries in Fleetwood, North Carolina. Dr. Samantha Chapman and Dr. Adam Langley from the Biology Department are collaborating with Cline Church and other Christmas tree growers on a research project investigating the potential for soil carbon storage in the Southern Appalachian Mountains.
