IABC Philadelphia Explores Careers in
Communication on Villanova's Campus
On Thursday, April 17, from 6 to 8:30 p.m.,
in the St. Augustine Center for the Liberal
Arts Room 300,
IABC Philadelphia will host a special
event for college students, when IABC
Philadelphia members will discuss career
opportunities in the field of communication.
College students from the Philadelphia area
are invited to attend the event. Students
from Temple University, La Salle University,
Drexel University, Widener University, the
University of Pennsylvania, and, of course,
Villanova University, are expected to attend
this exciting presentation.
A panel, composed of working professionals
and members of IABC Philadelphia, will
discuss the field of communication,
including work in the non-profit and
corporate sectors, and what it is like being
an entrepreneur (owning a private
communications firm) in the industry. Panel
members will discuss how they got to their
present position and give advice to college
students who want to start careers in the
field of communication. Students will have
the opportunity to ask questions to the
panel members. At the end of the program,
food and refreshments will be served, giving
students, panel members, and IABC members
the chance to network with each other.
IABC Philadelphia has monthly events for
Philadelphia area communicators. IABC
Philadelphia would like to build
relationships with college students who are
planning to start careers in communication.
IABC Philadelphia members would then be able
to share the knowledge that they have about
starting a career in communication. For more
information, please contact
Maureen Piotti from the Office of Career
Services.
