This program, Villanova COM Summer in Greece, is one of many exciting
programs that out Department offers -- and, once you read, hear, and see more
about it, we think you'll agree that it's one of the most unique study abroad
opportunities available for students interested in Communication...
The basic idea is this: two of our faculty in Rhetorical Studies and/or Performance Studies
lead a group of 15-20 undergraduate
students, from Villanova and other universities. We travel through the country of Greece,
and typically stay in cities such as Athens, Delphi, Olympia, and Tolo—and most years also
include trips to the Greek islands of Crete and Santorini! Throughout the trip, we stay in
three- and four-star hotels—never dorms or hostels—and travel by air conditioned motor
coach (read: tour bus, probably just like Jovi’s).
As part of the program, students receive credit for 2 undergraduate courses (6 credit hours).
Classes are typically held in the morning, leaving you time for studying, lounging by the
pool or sea, sightseeing, shopping, or enjoying the Greek siesta in the comfort of your
room!
After reading all this, hopefully you see just how amazing this trip is…and are planning to
apply! We typically begin accepting applications in the late Fall, and everything (including
deposits, etc.) must be completed early in the Spring semester—so, if you’re interested,
contact the program director as soon as possible!
