The Environmental Science Concentration in the Bachelor of Science Comprehensive Program gives the student with an interest in science and the environment an opportunity to study environmental science within a social and cultural context. The program can serve as preparation for graduate studies in environmental sciences, geography, and planning. Employment opportunities exist in government, business, or industry.

2 Refer to the Environmental Studies Concentration handout for acceptable courses in Category B. Note that Introductory Ecology will also fulfill a Science elective in the Comprehensive Science program, and GEO courses will fulfill one Social Science requirement of the Core Curriculum.
3 With ES I and II, BIO 3255 and CSC 1051, four additional Science Electives required for BSC major. Consider advanced courses in Biology and Chemistry with environmental content (refer to the Environmental Studies Concentration handout).
4 Environmental Ethics (PHI 3820) required for the Environmental Studies Concentration, and fulfills advanced PHI requirement in the Core Curriculum as well. Seminar in Environmental Issues is an interdisciplinary course required for Environmental Studies Concentration.
5 Refer to the Environmental Studies Concentration handout for acceptable courses in Categories C and D. Note that several courses will also fulfill the Social Science requirement of the Core Curriculum.
6 Need approval from Director of Environmental Studies Concentration in addition to Director of Comprehensive Science.
7 Third required course for Social Science requirement of the Core Curriculum. Take either introductory or advanced course, as needed given courses selected for Categories C and D in Environmental Studies Concentration.
