Welcome to Computing Science at Villanova University!
In today's rapidly changing technological environment, computing
professionals need to have the most up-to-date and comprehensive education. To
further these goals, the department of computing sciences at Villanova
University offers the Bachelor of Science in computer science, service courses,
a Master of Science in computer science, a Master of Technology Management, a
Master of Science in software engineering and graduate certificates in computer
science.
Computer science students explore a broad spectrum of computing technologies
and concepts. our courses provide a thorough foundation in the principles and
practices of computing, paving the way for successful careers and ongoing
graduate studies. Our students also learn skills in communication and the
scientific, mathematical, and engineering principles that support the computing
disciplines. Our programs are designed to develop the total person, one with
intellectual curiosity, mature judgment, a thirst for life-long learning, and a
commitment to the betterment of society.

Because web site technology and design is an important part of our
discipline, the Department of Computing Sciences has created and maintains its
own web site. Not only does our site
provide a public face for the department and help the faculty and staff manage
their ongoing academic, research and service projects, it also provides a
valuable source for student study, experience, and projects.

Note: The computing job market is alive and well!! In recent years, programs in
computing have been plagued by misunderstandings of the desirability of careers.
Stories of outsourced technology jobs have overshadowed the reality of a rich
set of opportunities in an exciting and ever-evolving discipline. Salaries are
high, job prospects are excellent, and the work is exciting and ever new. The
