Description: The purpose of this workshop is to provide prospective teachers in the Master's + Certification track with a forum to reflect on the self as a professional educator. Specifically, prospective teachers will reflect on their cognitive, moral, and pedagogical development. The means for accomplishing this task is the development of a teaching portfolio which incorporates prospective teachers' philosophy statements, artifacts and reflections that exemplify the INTASC standards, and artifacts and reflections that illuminate prospective teachers' beliefs and actions concerning moral issues. The workshop will include elements that are conceptual (i.e., discussions about standards, moral development, and students' practice as student teachers) and technical (i.e., instruction in the technological skills necessary to create an electronic portfolio). Student will reflect on their own portfolios and critique their classmates' portfolios.
