American Counseling Association (ACA)

The ACA is a professional organization representing counselors. It offers a number of services and publications to its members. ACA members can join one or more of the divisions or organizational affiliates which correspond to their specific interests in counseling. Information on ACA and the benefits its membership provides is available in the Education and Human Services Office along with applications for membership. Students are strongly encouraged to join ACA soon after being admitted to the program. Students entering their internship are required to join ACA, so as to qualify for malpractice insurance. American School Counselor Association (ASCA)

The ASCA is the national organization that represents the profession of school counseling. ASCA focuses on providing professional development, enhancing school counseling programs, and researching effective school counseling practices. Our mission is to promote excellence in professional school counseling and the development of all students. Pennsylvania Counseling Association (PCA) and Pennsylvania School Counseling Association (PSCA)

The PCA and PSCA are state professional organizations which offer student membership. Membership provides students with an opportunity to voice their opinions and concerns in an arena with other professionals eager to listen. PCA and PSCA offer a number of publications and services to their members.
