In lieu of taking a comprehensive examination, the Department of Education and Human Services encourages all students enrolled in its M.A./M.S. Programs in Counseling and Human Relations, Educational Leadership, Graduate Teacher Education to write a thesis as the culminating exercise of their program of studies. Students who are considering doctoral studies at some future point in time are especially encouraged to write a thesis.
