Education Minor
A minor in Education requires at least 15 credits. Required courses for the minor are:
- EDU 2202 Social Foundations of Education II
- EDU 3251 Psychology of Teaching and Learning
- EDU 3263 Diversity and Inclusion and
- EDU 4290 Philosophy of Education
An additional 3 credits may be elected from:
- EDU 2201 Social Foundations of Education I
- EDU 2300 Research Seminar in Education
- EDU 3254 Principles of Techniques and Instruction (4 cr)
- EDU 3258 Education and Society in 1960’s
- EDU 3260 Education and Society in World War II
- EDU 3262 Education Pearl Harbor to Sputnik
- EDU 3265 Global Racism in the Schools
- EDU 4301 Humanistic Education
Students seeking Elementary Certification through Rosemont College cannot minor in Education. The minor in Education does not qualify one for a Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate.
Educational Policy and Leadership Minor
A minor in Educational Policy and Leadership is designed to help students
develop an awareness of global issues in education in order to learn how
educational institutions can transform and be transformed by society through
school policy and leadership. A minor in Educational Policy and Leadership
requires at least 15 credits. Required courses for the minor are:
- EDU 3263 Diversity and Inclusion in Education
- EDU 2300 Research Seminar in Education
- EDU 8654 Educational Policy Analysis
An additional 6 credits may be elected from:
- EDU 4290 Philosophy of Education
- EDU 3265 Global Racism in Education
- EDU 8669 Comparative Education
- EDU 8656 School Law Independent Study Topics Course- which may include
the following: School Reform Gender and Education Current Issues in
Education The Presidency and Education Democracy and Education
