Elementary Education

Villanova, in cooperation with neighboring Rosemont College, offers students a program leading to a Pennsylvania-approved elementary education certification. Students planning to teach are admitted to the teacher certification program in the sophomore year after interviews and scholastic averages indicate they have the acceptable qualifications. A Villanova student may be recommended for certification in elementary education by Rosemont College by satisfactorily completing (1) all major and core requirements of Villanova University, (2) the professional education requirements of Rosemont College, and (3) the necessary psychology and education courses at Villanova.

Program Information

Interested students must make application to Carol Thon, Director of Elementary Education, St. Augustine Center, Room 427, in the fall semester of their sophomore year and must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.00. Students should arrange their own transportation.
