Alison Baxter

Alison Baxter is a senior English and French major. She is an English major
because she loves to read more than anything and hopes to go into publishing after graduation.
Her other passion is France and French culture, and she studied abroad in the summer of 2008.
Emily Brady

Emily Brady is a junior English major. She is one of nine children in a loud
Irish/Italian family, which has definitely influenced what she's chosen to study.
She loves a variety of genres and authors, especially poetry and Emerson. She is
also involved in a cappella, intramurals, Special Olympics, and the Junior Ryan
Fellows.
Kim Campbell

Kim Campbell is an English and Secondary Education major. After graduating, she
hopes to teach high school English. She reads a wide variety of literature but
particularly loves classic American novels. She is also a member of the
Villanova orchestra, where she plays the flute.
Marissa Crespo

Marissa Crespo is a senior English and Humanities major with minors in Spanish
and Africana Studies and a concentration in Writing and Rhetoric. She is
currently applying to law school. Her literary interests include Toni Morrison's
novels and Rob Sheffield's Love Is a Mixtape.
Kaitlyn Flynn

Kaitlyn Flynn is a junior English and Political Science major with a Writing and
Rhetoric minor. She is from Long Island, New York, and has five brothers and
sisters (and twelve nieces and nephews). She hopes to go to law school after
graduation and become an attorney. She loves Jodi Picoult's books, The Bluest
Eye, A Thousand Splendid Suns, and The Memory Keeper's Daughter.
Megan Hughes

Megan Hughes is a junior English major from Pleasantville, New York. She is
interested in pursuing a career in law or public relations. On campus, she is
involved with the executive board of her sorority as well as Bigs & Littles. She
enjoys the work of Jane Austen and has taken a recent liking to short stories by
Flannery O'Connor. She loves being an English major!
John LaCerda

John LaCerda is a senior English major with a Spanish minor. He plans to attend law
school and is interested in working in television and news media and running for
political office. His favorite authors include Hemingway, Ginsberg, and Hunter
S. Thompson.
Cayce Lista

Cayce Lista is a senior English major with minors in Humanities and Spanish and
a concentration in Honors. Passionate about religious authors, Cayce enjoys
reading the works of greats such as Flannery O'Connor and Christina Rossetti,
and she plans to write her English thesis on a Catholic novelist. At Villanova,
Cayce is also involved in various Campus Ministry organizations, such as FOCUS
and Pastoral Musicians, and tutors at the Writing Center. After her career at
Villanova, Cayce plans to attend graduate school, hoping ultimately to become a
published author and teach creative writing at the university level.
Allison McIntyre

Allison McIntyre is a sophomore English (and possibly Geography) major. She has
loved to read and write since she was a little kid. She decided to be an English
major because it allows her to explore a subject she already loves and to be
exposed to a variety of literature she wouldn't otherwise have considered.
Juliana Morro

Juliana Morro is a junior English major with a concentration in Writing and
Rhetoric. Ideally, she would like to become an English professor. This year, she
is a facilitator for the Leadership Learning Community and an assistant to the
Director of the Writing Center and a Writing Center tutor. She is also involved
in Villanova Student Musical Theater and is a proud member of the all-female a
cappella group "Nothing But Treble" (and the tour director of the group). Some
of her favorite writers include Jane Austen, the Brontė sisters, Oscar Wilde,
Philippa Gregory, and Graham Greene.
Tara Powers

Tara Powers is a senior English major who hopes to use her English major to
jumpstart a career in publishing. She also intends to get a Master's degree in
Irish literature. She is the co-editor in chief of Polis, the campus
literary magazine, as well as a news reporter and copy editor for the
Villanovan. You can also find her at various Campus Ministry functions as a
tutor in the Writing Center. Some of her favorite writers are Brian Friel, C.S.
Lewis, and David Sedaris (an eclectic mix!).
Sam Ronan

Sam Ronan is a senior English major, French minor and Honors and Irish Studies
concentrator. After graduation she hopes to find a career in publishing or
editing or pursue further education in writing in Ireland. Her favorite writers
are Shakespeare, Salinger, Anne Sexton and John McGahern. She is currently the
Arts and Culture Editor at Campus Philly and reviews performances, visits
galleries, and edits pieces for the website. At Villanova she is a lector and
Chi Omega's philanthropy assistant chair.
Jordan Shipley

Jordan Shipley is a junior English and Political Science major. She hopes to go
to law school or graduate school in New York City and work someday in a
government position. She has studied abroad in Ireland. Her favorite book is
To Kill a Mockingbird, but she also loves Sherlock Holmes and The Time
Traveler's Wife.
Kelly Skahan

Kelly Skahan is a senior English major with a Writing and Rhetoric
concentration. She has interned at Philadelphia Style magazine and
Michael Kors and is currently an intern at Vogue. She loves contemporary
American literature, and her favorite books include The Poisonwood Bible, I
Am Charlotte Simmons, and The Hours.
Caroline Steller

Caroline Steller is a junior English major from Westfield, New Jersey. On
campus, she is a member of the Special Olympics Committee and the Honors
Program. She enjoys the study of literature, especially short stories and
novels, and hopes to pursue a career in publishing and editing after graduating
from Villanova.
Lauren VanCamp

Lauren VanCamp is a junior English major from Trenton, New Jersey. English has
always been per passion, and she plans on continuing her studies of it in
graduate school. Don DeLillo quickly became one of her favorite authors after
she first read White Noise. She is a member of Delta Gamma at Villanova
and will be going on her first service trip this fall to Bethlehem Farm in West
Virginia to help the communities in Appalachia.
Chelsea Woods

Chelsea Woods is a junior English major from Nutley, New Jersey. Her experience
with the major has been extremely positive, and she hopes to pursue a Ph.D. in
English and eventually teach on the college level. Her favorite literature
includes medieval writing, nineteenth-century authors (especially Herman
Melville), and poetry, especially the Romantic poets and Sufi mystics.
Christina Yatrakis

Christina Yatrakis is a junior English major with French and Business Law
minors. She plans to attend law school and focus on corporate law. Some of her
favorite authors are James Joyce, Tracy Chevalier, John Grisham, Virginia Woolf
and Jeffrey Archer. She is also a member of the Diversity Peer Educators (D.P.E.)
group on campus.
