Hello there Professor Radcliffe-
My name is Beth Biedrzycki and I graduated from Villanova in 2003 as an English
major. I'm currently the assistant editor of Mainline Magazine and the reason
I'm writing is because I'm interested in hiring summer interns and was hoping
you could send out an e-mail blast to the students in the school of Arts &
Sciences about the internship. <snip>
Thank you so much and I hope to hear from you soon. Best, Beth Biedrzycki Assistant Editor MAINLINE Magazine 610-667-8100

Courses for the fall
From: Evan Radcliffe
Sent: Tuesday, March 18, 2008
Subject: Courses for the fall
English majors--
Here are some notes about courses for the fall.
1. Attached is our guide to advising, which we first used
last term. I hope you find it helpful. It is also available
online.
2. English department
faculty are currently posting course descriptions online. You can find
them on the master schedule in
Novasis: just click on the Syllabus Available link for any course, and you
will see the description in the Learning Objectives field. The description
should also tell you whether the course fulfills any areas for English majors,
whether it counts for any concentrations or minors, and whether it counts for a
diversity requirement.
3. We are in the process of updating our main page for
courses (http://www.villanova.edu/artsci/english/courses/),
which will have charts telling you what English courses will fulfill what
requirements.
Generally, our main English page (http://www.villanova.edu/artsci/english//)
will keep you up-to-date on what we’ve updated and what's new. For
example, you can find a link to a
Course Planning Chart, which help you see where you stand with relation to
your department requirements.

It’s that time again. Philadelphia Style magazine is now hiring summer interns
and we want you to let your students know. We’re looking for help in our
editorial, fashion, creative, Web design/blogs and photography departments! I
will send some flyers to your office by next week as well.
We’re hosting two Intern Open Houses on April 10 and 23, a great chance for all
students to reach the interview stage and wow us. Your students will have the
opportunity to present their resume, writing samples (required for journalism
students) and/or portfolio (for graphic design students) and talk to staffers
about why they are a perfect fit for the position.
Please pass along this information to let your students know about a great
chance to work at a magazine. If you have any questions, please e-mail Rebecca
Shillenn at RebeccaS@dlgmedia.com.
