Jefferson College of Health Professions of Thomas Jefferson
University and Villanova University are pleased to announce a combined Bachelor
of Science and Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree program.
Students in this program will spend three years at
Villanova, completing most of the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in
Psychology or in Biology. They must complete the Core Curriculum of the College
and the major requirements; for a sample program, check the following sites:
Psychology,
Biology. They must maintain at 3.0 GPA and achieve a grade
of C or better in all prerequisite coursework to transfer to Jefferson. Credit
toward the bachelor’s degree will be given from courses taken at Jefferson; the
students will receive the bachelor’s degree from Villanova upon completion of
the first year at Jefferson.
The Jefferson portion of the program is two and a half
years in length. The students will receive the Master of Science in
Occupational Therapy (MOT) after the third year at Jefferson.
The master’s program is a post-baccalaureate program. The
combined degree program will allow a student to enter the MOT program after
three years of undergraduate work, enabling the student to enter the profession
a year earlier than under the traditional approach.
Requirements
- have an SAT I score of 1320 or better on the Critical Reading and
Math components (a specific score on the Writing component will not be used at
this time)
- or ACT score of 30 or better and include the writing portion
- rank in the top 10% of their high school class where class rank is reported
- and have a
GPA of at least 3.7 (unweighted) on a 4.0 scale

Complete the
Villanova Preliminary and Common Applications and submit by November
1. On the Villanova Preliminary Application, you should first choose an
Applicant Type from the drop down menu; select First Time Health
Affiliation. When completing the Major Course of Study section, in the drop down menu next to
Planned Course of Study choose the health affiliation to which
you are applying. Next, click on Enter Your Villanova Major and
from the drop down list choose a
major which you will pursue as an undergraduate. The Villanova major
will serve as your major if accepted into
the Health Affiliation Science Program or reviewed for admission to
Villanova.
