Graduate HRD Mentoring Program

Vision

Mentoring Guidelines
FAQ's

The mentoring program provides Graduate Students with the opportunity to work with successful HR Professionals and to continue to develop their skill sets. Mentors benefit by accessing fresh talent, improving their leadership skills and building a rapport with Villanova’s reputable HRD Graduate Program.

Expectations

By communicating effectively, participants set and share personal goals with one another that are concurrent with their work schedules.  Participants are required to meet once per month to ensure progressive development and goal attainment. Participants are expected to communicate and provide feedback to the HRD Department for improving the program as well.

Rewards

Essentially, you are paired with someone of similar interests/expertise and it is the responsibility of the protégé to utilize this Human Resource. Benefits include expanding your knowledge base, having a resource you can go to when you have HR questions or issues, and making a valuable contact in the HR field.

Be a Mentor

We are currently looking for new and eager mentors and protégés that wish to continue to move forward and excel in the field of HR.  If you are interested in this great opportunity, please contact Rana Sachdev at: rana.sachdev@villanova.edu or in the HRD Graduate Assistant’s office at: (610) 519-4582.

"From 2005-2007, I led and participated in Villanova's Human Resource Development (HRD) Mentoring Program while I pursued my Master's degree.  This experience was crucial for developing my professional network and maximizing the opportunities and resources that the program has to offer.  Villanova's loyal alumni base is spectacular and very prestigious.  It is uncommon to find the kind of exposure to top-notch professionals that Villanova's HRD Mentoring Program offers.  Now that I am an alum, my mentoring connections continue to live on and I know that I will continue to capitalize on these relationships throughout my career."
