Sustainable Development

The Program initiated a Sustainable Development Initiative (SDI) in 2003 as a result of a two-year Title VI funding from the US Department of Education during 2003-2005. This initiative sponsors inter-disciplinary workshops by scholars from overseas on sustainable development.

It also engages in various inter-institutional collaborative projects with agencies in Costa Rica and the United States. As part of the coursework on Sustainable Development in Latin America, students visit environmental projects in the region and are asked to produce reports.
