The Division of European Studies offers both majors and minors in each of
the following languages: French and Italian.
Other languages such as Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, and Russian are offered
through the Institute of Global and
Interdisciplinary Studies. Over 1,500 students per semester take courses in
one or more of the language programs. A coordinator is assigned to each
language section to ensure excellence and homogeneity at the different levels
of language acquisition.
The Department currently offers a variety of study
abroad programs, summer intensive courses and language
clubs, along with other opportunities for overseas study through semester
programs. Students seeking additional information about these and other
departmental programs should consult the
undergraduate coordinator of each language.
