How to apply for a Major or Minor in Spanish

We encourage students to obtain a Spanish Major. In order to do so, students may come to the Department main office, located in SAC 303 and fill out a form to declare their major. Majors will be assigned an advisor from the Spanish faculty, and the paperwork will be sent to the Dean's office, so that their major will appear on their academic transcript. You may also fill out the form on line and send it to anne-Marie.Joyce@villanova.edu.  She will assign you an advisor from the Spanish faculty.

You may instead apply for a Spanish Minor. However minors will not appear on the student academic transcript, but students will be issued a certificate on their senior year, upon completion of the requirements.

For additional information you may contact Dr. Carmen Peraita, Spanish coordinator: Carmen.Peraita@villanova.edu

Spanish Literature in English

The Division of Spanish also offers courses of Spanish literature in English translation. Such courses may be used to fulfill the Advanced literature requirement or a Humanities elective; however, they may not be used toward credit requirements for the Spanish major or minor.
