Adopt-A-School

Adopt-A-School is a volunteer program that involves midshipmen in community service work. Weekly, midshipmen travel to Cassidy Elementary School in west Philadelphia to offer their services as tutors and role models. The program allows the midshipmen to put their education and standing as future officers to good use helping the children. The program has been in operation for several years now and continues to be a positive experience for both parties.

Requirements: Two hours per week

Sailing Team

The Sailing Team is composed of interested midshipmen who volunteer for the team. Previous sailing experience is not necessary and all equipment is supplied by the Unit. The sailing team competes using small, highly maneuverable Laser-class sailboats, one-man craft known for testing full skills in the arts of sailing.
