Fair Food

The members of Fair Food are committed to trying to understand how food affects all aspects of our lives and the world. We all depend on food, and yet many struggle to obtain it, others have access to only processed foods, and many aren’t connected to where their food comes from. We work on food issues that affect the communities nearest to us—Villanova, the surrounding neighborhoods, and Philadelphia—because we can have a tangible impact in these places, and we get to see the fruits of our labor.

This year, we're working to create a garden on campus; keeping up the herb garden in front of Dougherty Hall; taking a tour of the composting facilities; going on field trips to Mill Creek Urban Farm and Skunk Hollow CSA; sharing some snacks and meals; and continuing to talk about food issues and possibilities!

If you want to check out the work we've done in the last year, see our blog at www.foodatvu.blogspot.com. You are welcome to email Emily Fero (emily.fero@villanova.edu) or Kris Doll (kristopher.doll@villanova.edu) for any more information; you are also welcome to stop by at our weekly meetings any time.

Meeting time and place: Wednesdays @ 4:00 in the Center for Peace & Justice Education
Officers: Emily Fero & Kristopher Doll
