What can you do with a major in Philosophy? Philosophy at Villanova offers courses and programs which enhance a variety of future careers. Courses in Philosophy can provide a strong foundation in writing, analytic skills, communication and logic. Philosophy also leads to greater self-awareness and understanding of others and the world around us.

Many of our majors go to law school and now have positions with law firms around the country. Some of our graduates go to graduate school in Philosophy and have careers teaching Philosophy at the college level.

Most of our majors now hold positions in professional fields such as banking, health services, education, insurance, educational administration, public relations and state and local government. To give just a few examples, our Philosophy graduates now have careers as museum curators, community service directors, CIA agents, state supreme court justices and college Presidents.
