Advising

Each student is assigned a faculty advisor immediately upon declaring psychology as a major. Ten of the seventeen full-time faculty of the department comprise the membership of the Undergraduate Advisement Committee (UGAC). This committee is responsible for all matters related to the efficient conduct of our undergraduate program including all the various aspects of program evaluation, curriculum and course design, and most importantly, advisement.

In addition to frequent individual meetings with advisors, a group advisement meeting is held each fall and spring semester. Through its formal advisement procedures, UGAC closely monitors the progress of each student to help the student ensure that all requirements for the undergraduate degree are satisfied in a timely fashion. Advisors also meet with students to discuss matters related to post-graduate plans for education and employment.
