8000 - Theories of Crime and Deviance Dr. Allison

The study of criminal behavior from an interdisciplinary perspective, covering
classical and contemporary theories of crime and delinquency and including
assumptions, empirical validity, and policy implications of these theories. The
study of other significant issues in criminology as well – such as the
measurement and extent of crime, the role of demographics (age, race, gender,
social class) in the causation of and reaction to crime, and the prevention of
crime and delinquency.
