Department of Theology & Religious Studies

We offer four graduate Certificate Programs that welcome national and regional applicants with diverse levels of academic and professional expertise interested in Catholic Christian theological studies.

We designed our Certificates in Theological Studies (15 credits) and Interdisciplinary Theological Inquiry (18 credits) with applicants in mind who do not have a master's degree in Theology or Religion. At Villanova, students and faculty pursue the academic study of theology in dialogue with the questions raised by contemporary culture and the continuous experience of human life.
Our other two certificates, Advanced Theological Studies (18 credits) and Advanced Interdisciplinary Theological Inquiry (18 credits), are open to students who have already earned a master's degree in Theology or Religion.

Each Certificate program permits you to develop concentrations and tailor courses to your specific needs and professional objectives. The programs include coursework in theological and interdisciplinary studies.
