Best Practices in Catholic Church Ministry Performance Management
June 12, 2007
The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center, Washington D.C.

Co-sponsored by the Center for the Study of Church Management and The Pope John Paul II Cultural Center

The conference focused on the performance appraisal and ensuing formation of four categories of Catholic ministers:

1. Pastors
2. Deacons
3. Paid Staff
4. Volunteers

Separate sessions were offered on each of these ministry categories. Presenters included business school professors discussing the general issues involved in performance management; seminary professors spotlighting pastoral issues of ministry performance management, and practitioners describing best practices in ministry performance management. Each session included time set aside for discussion by attendees. The primary goal of the conference was the cross-fertilization of ideas.
