The Center for Global Leadership supports a range of Villanova School of
Business educational initiatives. These activities integrate the tools and best
practices of responsible global leadership into VSB's undergraduate,
graduate, and executive education programs. These initiatives include the
following:
Partnering with Vanguard, KPMG, Rolls Royce, and
Navigant to enhance VSB students’ international career experiences.
Establishing an honors course in global corporate
social responsibility.
VSB now offers an honors course in global corporate social and environmental
responsibility, which has become a permanent part of VSB's elective offerings.
In spring 2007, students from this course participated in an immersion trip to
Nicaragua. Click here

Establishing a course on management in emerging
economies.
VSB developed a new course on the challenges and opportunities associated with
organizational management and business strategy in emerging economies.
Supporting student participation in international business case competitions.
The center sponsors an undergraduate team of students who participate in
an annual international business case competition at Loyola Marymount
University. This competition, held in Los Angeles, provides students
with real-world experience in understanding international business and provides
them with relevant experience for academic, career, and professional
development. The VSB team placed first in the 2007 competition.
Supporting the development of student internships with
regional and national international business organizations and agencies.
Sponsoring topical forums.
The center sponsors a variety of topical forums, often in conjunction with other student organizations or centers of excellence. Some of the topics addressed include fair trade practices, recent developments and best practices of ethics and corporate governance, and socially responsible investing.
Incorporating globally responsible leadership in graduate
and executive education.
VSB faculty members and members of the center’s advisory council developed
cases, role-playing exercises, and other innovative methods to educate students
about difficult situations that leaders confront involving ethics, values, and
stakeholder conflicts.
Developing the Executive Speakers’ Bureau.
The center identifies executives—many of whom are members of its advisory
council—who participate in classroom discussions with undergraduate, graduate,
and executive MBA students. The executives offer their time and perspectives to
enhance the students’ exposure to the challenges of globally responsible
leadership.
