The Center for Global Leadership provides financial support for VSB
students engaged in a variety of international business activities.
Funding is available under the following scholarship and fellowship
programs:
Herbert G. Rammrath Semester Study-Abroad
Scholarship
Each semester the center awards up to two $2,500 - $5,000 Rammrath
Scholarships to VSB students who plan to study abroad. This program is
open for applications at the beginning of each semester with
preannounced deadlines in October and April for study-abroad
participation the following semester.
Eligibility Requirements & Preferences:
- Demonstrated financial need;
- Overall 3.0 or higher grade point average;
- U.S. citizenship; and
- Strong preference that the language of study abroad country is
not English.
Those interested in applying for these scholarships must submit a one
page application in Microsoft Word addressing the following three
questions:
- Why do you want to study abroad? What led you to choose your
destination and program?
- What are your career plans and how do you see your study abroad
experience enhancing these plans?
- How would receipt of this scholarship help you study abroad?

Herbert G. Rammrath Summer International
Internship Scholarship
Each spring the center awards five-to-ten $1,000 Rammrath
Scholarships to VSB students who plan to participate in a VSB-approved
international internship during the following summer. Information on
these programs can be found on the Office of International Studies
website
(Click here to visit). This program is open for applications at the beginning of the spring semester
with a preannounced deadline at the end of Feburary. In addition
to the one-page scholarship essay, selection for these awards will be
judged on the following criteria in descending order:
- Highest preference given to those students participating in an
internship in a foreign language (e.g. Chile: Spanish; China:
Mandarin; Spain: Spanish; Italy/AUR: Italian). The highest
preference criterion requires having completed two years, or the
equivalent, of the appropriate foreign language.
- Second level of preference will be given to those choosing a
destination outside of Europe.
- Third level of preference will be given to those with highest
relative financial need.
Note: All applicants must:
- Have at least an overall 3.0 grade point average.
- Be a VSB freshman, sophomore or junior.
- Be a US citizen.

prepare a one-page, double-spaced application addressing the following
three questions:
- Why do you want to do an internship in a foreign country and what led
you to choose your destination?
- What are your career plans and how do you see your foreign internship
enhancing these plans?
- How would receipt of this scholarship help you study abroad?

Herbert G. Rammrath Foreign VSB Student
Scholarship
Each year the center, the Office of University Admission and the Office of
Financial Assistance work together to identify a promising foreign
student applicant, or foreign student presently enrolled in, VSB. This
endeavor results in an award valued up to
$5,000 a year for tuition charges incurred for coursework taken at
Villanova University. This scholarship will be combined with the
need-based financial aid that the student is eligible to receive.
The recipient may be entitled to receive the Herbert G. Rammrath Scholarship
each year they attend the University provided the following conditions are met:
- Student must remain a full-time student.
- Student must maintain good standing under the University’s Code of
Conduct.
- Student must write a thank-you letter to Herb Rammrath, provide the
center with a photograph and brief biography for center publications,
and participate in an annual event honoring the benefactor.
Ron Cruse International Fellowship Program in memory of Sergey Kuzminykh
This is a university-wide program that annually awards up to two $6,250
fellowships for undergraduate student involvement in non-traditional
global study and experience. These fellowship awards are intended to
support compelling, unique, and potentially transformative experiences
outside of the United States, preferably involving business or other
organizations. There is a strong preference for destinations in the
developing and emerging regions of the world. These fellowships are not
intended to support internships for academic credit or Villanova
sponsored mission or service trips.
To qualify for one of these fellowships,
students must be nominated by a departmental chairperson or
