Programs and Events

A vital aspect of the mission of the Center for Marketing and Public Policy Research is to foster relationships among industry leaders, lawmakers, regulators, the legal profession, and consumer groups. In addition, the center strives to expose business students at Villanova to thought leaders in marketing and public policy.

Towards this end, the center sponsors a variety of events, including lectures, industry forums, conferences, and networking programs on the Villanova campus and at outside venues.

  • Second Transformative Consumer Research Conference: "The World We All Want Conference" Sponsored by Halloran Philanthropies

    Join us for the 2009 TCR conference at Villanova University. The purpose of this conference is to bring together consumer researchers to discuss how our scholarship and actions can help alleviate the most pressing social and economic problems. This conference is specifically designed to create spaces for dialogue and intellectual exchange.   • Fostering Financial Learning: The Impact of Financial Disclosure and Education on Investors

    At this multidisciplinary forum on financial literacy, co-sponsored by Vanguard, attendees heard from experts drawn from the academic, legal, regulatory, and business communities. Lori Schock, Acting Director, Office of Investor Education and Assistance, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, delivered keynote remarks.   • Distinguished Speakers Series
    The Distinguished Speakers Series brings a variety of industry, government, and academic experts to campus to speak with business leaders active in the center, as well as faculty and students. Recent speakers include former U.S. Representative Michael G. Oxley, co-author of the landmark Sarbanes-Oxley Act; Suzanne Petrella, Vice President of Corporate Accounts at Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems; Professor David Stewart, Editor of the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science; and Stephen J. McConnell, Esq., of the Dechert, LLP law firm.
