Letter From the President
September 2007
First, congratulations and best wishes to the Class of 2007. We are excited to
welcome you into the next stage of your journey, the VU EMBA Alumni Association.
The VU EMBA alumni play leading roles in organizations around the world. Thanks
to the strength of Villanova’s EMBA program, our alumni network is particularly
strong and is uniquely responsive. Bonds forged between classmates and alumni
will likely prove to become lifetime connections. Hence the reason to get all of
the alumni together united for a common good- the building and strengthening of
our EMBA Alumni Association.
As the EMBA Alumni Association enters its 6th year the commitment,
enthusiasm, and leadership demonstrated by our elected officers and body of
alumni continues to be impressive. I would like to give a special thanks to our
outgoing board and alumni volunteers led by Fran Barrett as Chair and A.B.
Maynard as President. Some of the 2006-07 Board’s many accomplishments include:
-
spear-heading the first annual Conference and Reunion Weekend
-
developing a strong and consistent communication channel with the Dean
and broader Villanova University community
-
creating an EMBA “Linked In” Chapter for networking and recruiting
-
redesigning and re-instating a VSB EMBA website
-
establishing a SharePoint site for the Board and broader Alumni
community to collaborate on work products and share information
-
hosting some really fun and memorable events
To those Board Members who are transitioning off of the Board (Fran Barrett,
Michelle Neils, Michael Santilli, Therese Narzikul, Kevin Mead & Jon Sonsteby),
we will miss you next year, but we know that you will continue to make us proud
as active alumni. The EMBA Alumni Association provides ongoing academic enrichment and continued
support for the growth of the Executive MBA program and the Villanova School of
Business. The 2007-2008 board met for the first time in early September. In
addition to working on the 2nd Annual Alumni Conference & Reunion weekend, we
will be strategizing on ways to support the Alumni goals of:We hope that through these events, we will perpetuate and advance the dynamic
academic community that alumni valued as students -- a community enhanced by
close friendships, shared aspirations and the opportunity to generate new ideas
that we can implement within our own organizations. Whether attending a happy hour, volunteering as a speaker at one of our
breakfast meetings, or supporting our Conference and Reunion Weekend, we hope
that your experience is a rewarding one. The board is here to serve you and we
welcome both suggestions and compliments. Thanks for visiting.
