Week One Residency

The Week One Residency begins on a Saturday morning in mid-August and runs through the following Friday. Why clear an entire week on your calendar for this event? It’s designed specifically to help you transition back into the academic world and get ready to learn. During this week, you’ll begin the process of becoming a part of the Villanova School of Business Executive MBA learning community. 

We recognize the important role that the family and significant others play in your success in the program. Spouses/partners are invited to attend an orientation session on the Saturday of the Week One Residency with you. This separate program familiarizes them with what you will experience over the course of the program. A barbeque with the faculty ends the day. Mid-week, your family is invited for the first Family Night.

What you'll do during this week:

  • Participate in the learning readiness program that prepares you to be an active member of the collaborative learning community that is built on trust, exploration and sharing
  • Get an overview of the program and the various types of learning methods used in the program such as the case method
  • Begin to build relationships with your fellow students through teambuilding exercises and social gatherings
  • Meet and get to know the faculty
  • Receive your laptop computer, yours to use for the entire program, and an orientation to the technology used in support of the program
  • Begin the classes of the first module
