Accounting & Information Systems at VSB is a community of thought leaders who bring a
wealth of experience and expertise to the classroom and their research endeavors. The
department is nationally recognized for its rigorous accounting programs, which top
recruiters routinely claim produce some of the most highly desirable job candidates
available today. In fact, over the past five years, nearly
100 percent of graduating seniors in the accounting program
had job placements confirmed before their graduation date.

Accounting Research, Auditing: A Journal of Practice

World-Class Degree Programs
Accounting & Information Systems at VSB
supports several degree programs. Undergraduate students may
pursue a BBA degree with a major or minor in accounting, or
a major or minor in management information systems. At the
graduate level, the department supports the Master of
Accountancy (MAC) program. A specialization in management
information systems is also offered to students enrolled in
VSB’s Professional MBA program.

Centers of Excellence and Strategic Initiative Groups
Accounting & Information Systems faculty collaborate with
VSB Centers of Excellence and Strategic Initiative Groups
(SIGs), including the VSB Strategic Financial Consulting SIG. The main
focus of the Strategic Financial Consulting SIG is the innovative
integration of finance, accounting, and information systems, and the development of
cutting-edge educational approaches that prepare students
for successful careers in the global economy.
