Faculty at VSB are nationally-recognized for their passion for teaching. The VSB emphasis on community—which is fundamental to
Villanova's Augustinian tradition—requires a faculty body that is as committed to teaching as it is to research.
Increased donor support to the school and a creative faculty reorganization at VSB have
led to exciting curricular changes, which are currently underway across all program levels.
A major area of innovation for Marketing & Business Law at VSB is in the development
and application of cross-functional pedagogical approaches. For example, marketing and
management faculty are collaborating to team-teach a new sophomore course called "Competitive
Effectiveness." Such a multidisciplinary approach provides both faculty and students with the
opportunity to critically examine topics more deeply and from broader perspectives.
VSB faculty members have a variety of resources at their disposal to enhance classroom teaching.
Several types of electronic resources and web simulations are routinely incorporated into coursework,
and faculty members regularly consult with VSB's corporate partners to ensure that the curriculum is relevant
and reflects global business practice. These corporate partners also serve as guest speakers. During the
past year alone, more than 30 guest speakers from organizations including Proctor and Gamble, Vanguard, Merck,
and the International Advertising Association were featured in Marketing &
Business Law classes.
