One additional year…a lifetime of opportunities.
The Villanova Master of Science in
Finance (MSF) Program is a rigorous, 12-month, full-time degree program that
includes hands-on interaction with the business world in addition to classroom
study. Coursework includes financial theory, financial decision-making, applied
corporate financial analysis, derivatives markets, and management of real-world
investment funds. MSF classes utilize VSB’s nationally recognized Applied
Finance Lab, which provides access to the same advanced resources and real-time
information as Wall Street traders and offers the opportunity to obtain
Bloomberg certification.
In addition, the MSF professional
development program provides outstanding support and mentorship to help achieve
career objectives within the highly competitive finance industry. The program
places strong emphasis on interviewing techniques and networking opportunities.
MSF students also are able to apply for the Fellows Program, which is a
competitive assistantship that allows students to pursue their degree with
reduced tuition charges while obtaining paid research experience and exposure
to faculty members.
What will you study?
The MSF curriculum is designed to develop graduates who can demonstrate a
comprehensive understanding, depth of knowledge, and ability to apply professional competencies
needed for success in the financial services industry.
The depth and degree of
financial theory covered in the MSF curriculum is much greater than what is
covered in a traditional MBA Program. Courses cover a wide variety of topics
including:
- Financial decision-making under uncertainty
- Applied corporate
financial analysis
- Derivatives markets
- Management of real-world investment
funds
