General Questions
Who is eligible for the MAC program?
If you are a college graduate (BS or BA) with an accounting major or minor, you can enroll in
the MAC program without taking additional undergraduate courses. If you have a
business degree in another subject area, you may be eligible for the program, but
must first take additional courses.
If I participate in the program, can I work in the fall immediately after receiving my undergraduate degree?
Yes. The 12-month MAC program is specifically designed to allow you to begin classes and still start full-time employment in the fall.
You are not required to have full-time employment to enroll in the program.
I work or live outside of Pennsylvania. Is it still possible to participate in the
program, even if I am not close to Villanova campus?
Yes. Off-campus housing is available throughout the year, and the fall and spring courses can be completed online.
Is the program accredited?
Yes, all programs offered by the Villanova School of Business are accredited by
the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the
professional accrediting body for business schools.
Curriculum / Course Requirements
Do the 30 credit hours earned in this program count toward the 150-hour requirement that many states have in order to become a certified public accountant?
Yes. The 30 credit hours you earn in the program, when combined with an appropriate undergraduate degree, meet the 150 hours required
by many states.
Is it possible to start the program after working for one or more years?
Yes. You will need to make arrangements with your employer to get the necessary
time off during the summer of full-time study.
Is it possible to work full-time during the summers when I am taking classes in the
program?
No. The summer coursework, consisting of six graduate courses, is a rigorous load that requires your full-time commitment.
Classes take place 4 days a week from 8:30 to 3:30 each day.
Do I have to take the GMAT to apply for the program?
You may be asked to take the GMAT by our admissions staff, but it is not required.
What is the MAC to MBA option?
After completing the MAC program, you can apply to The Villanova MBA Flex Track
and, if accepted into the program, transfer up to 21 credits.
Tuition & Fees
What is the tuition for the program?
The 2012 tuition for the Master of Accountancy (MAC) program is $31,800 ($1,060
per credit).
Financial
aid in the form of student loans is available. Your tuition costs will be higher
if you require additional coursework beyond the standard curriculum.
