“Your understanding of business is our business.” Through SBI’s emphasis on innovation, creativity, and hands-on learning, students gain a solid understanding of business basics through a broad range of uniquely integrated courses, preparing them for success after graduation.

The program’s course content is delivered in three modules:
Module I: Business Fundamentals
Module II: Corporate Responsibility and Financial Management & Reporting
Module III: Applied Economics and Competitive Effectiveness

The one credit Professional Success course is integrated throughout Modules I and II

  • SBI 1000 (1 Credit)
    Professional Success
    Career-related assessment and strategizing for identifying professional goals; skill building for job/internship search; exposure to practicing professionals.

  • SBI 1001 (1 Credit)
    Business Fundamentals
    Dynamic nature of business in a changing environment explored. Cross functional approach to understanding business operations. Emphasis on purpose of business; how business vision is actualized. Action learning, problem solving approach utilized.


  • SBI 2005 (3 Credits)
    Applied Economics 
    Introduction to macroeconomics and microeconomics and the application of specific business decisions.


  • SBI 2006 (3 Credits)
    Corporate Responsibility 
    Core concepts of business law, ethical decision making, corporate social responsibility and governance.

  • SBI 3005 (4 Credits)
    Financial Management and Reporting 

    Foundation principles of corporate finance and financial accounting; emphasis on solving business problems.

  • SBI 3006 (4 Credits)
    Competitive Effectiveness
    Integration of marketing and management concepts as an approach to creating value in business.
