Become a Peer Advisor

VSB students are invited to apply to become a Peer Advisor (PA) in the spring of their sophomore year. PAs advise for three semesters.

Some of the benefits of being a VSB Peer Advisor include:

  • Develop leadership skills
  • Mentor underclass students
  • Participate in professional development activities for free
  • Exclusive access to the Peer Advisor office—not only a great place to meet with your advisees, but also a quiet place to get your own work done.
  • Give back to VSB

Once selected as a Peer Advisor, a student will serve in that role throughout his/her junior and senior year and agree to fulfill the Peer Advisor expectations.

Peer Advisor Executive Board

The Peer Advisor (PA) Executive Board is made up of a select group of individuals who collaborate with the Clay Center to manage the Peer Advising program.

The Executive Board members are involved in:

  • Recruiting new Peer Advisors and Executive Board members
  • Training Peer Advisors
  • Overseeing the activities of 10-12 Peer Advisors
  • Maintaining the Peer Advisor office
  • Assisting in planning of Clay Center programs and school-wide events
  • Continuing advisement with assigned students
