VSB
students are invited to apply to become a Peer Counselor (PC) in
the spring of their sophomore year. PC's advise for three
semesters.
Some of the benefits of being a VSB Peer Counselor include:
- Develop leadership skills
- Mentor underclass students
- Participate in professional development activities for
free
- Exclusive access to the Peer Counselor office—not only a
great place to meet with your advisees, but also a quiet
place to get your own work done.
- Give back to VSB
Once selected as a Peer Counselor, a student will serve in
that role throughout his/her junior and senior year and agree to
fulfill the
Peer Counselor expectations.
Peer Counselor Executive Board
The Peer Counselor (PC) Executive Board is made up of a select group of individuals who collaborate with
the Clay Center to manage the Peer Counseling program.
The Executive Board members are involved in:
- Recruiting new Peer Counselors and Executive Board members
- Training Peer Counselors
- Overseeing the activities of 10-12 Peer Counselors
- Maintaining the Peer Counselor office
- Assisting in planning of Clay Center programs and school-wide events
- Continuing advisement with assigned students
