Spring Accounting Internship (SAI) Program
Junior accounting majors are eligible to participate in
a full-time, 14-week internship during the spring
semester. Dr. James Emig is the faculty coordinator of the program; the
Clay Center
works collaboratively with Dr. Emig to coordinate the
recruiting process. Interested students must attend an
organizational meeting during the spring of their sophomore
year; Dr. Emig will notify eligible students of this meeting.

Spring ’08 Recruiting Process
Early March ‘07
Initial meeting to review the SAI Program and process.
Mid-April ‘07
End of year meeting. This is a mandatory meeting for all
interested students. Those unable to attend must contact
Dr. Emig as a condition of participation in the program.
Before the end of the semester
Students must meet with Internship/CoOp Coordinator
(Clay Center at VSB, Bartley 1054) to review academic
requirements and application process. Students apply via
GoNOVA (formerly known as eRecruiting/Experience) and need to set up their
account and upload their resume(s) in order to
participate.
June 1-July 13
Students submit their resumes for internships of
interests via
GoNOVA .
August 28
Organizational Meeting – 5:20 – Bartley 3070. Mandatory
meeting for all participating students. Interview
selections/schedules distributed.
September 10-21
Interviews conducted in Career Services Interview Suites
(Corr Hall Lobby, 1st floor)
October 4
Students pick up offer letters from Dr. Emig.
October 8-19
Students may make office visits.
October 21
Deadline for students to notify Dr. Emig (via email) of
accepted offers; students should also contact firms at
this time.
January 2008
Students begin internships.

Field Experience Program in
Marketing and Public Policy
Overview
The 10-week Field Experience Program—sponsored
by the Center for Marketing and Public Policy Research—provides summer
internship assignments focusing on issues at the intersection of
marketing and business regulation, involving marketing planning and
implementation, research, sales, and lobbying, among other tasks.
Students earn 3 free elective credits upon successful completion of the
program.
Eligibility
All VSB majors are eligible; students must have completed their sophomore year
and completed Principles of Marketing (MKT 1137) by the end of the spring prior
to summer participation. A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 is required.

Internships that are part of a study abroad experience
are administered by the Office of International Studies.
Credit approval for international internships is granted
by the faculty chair of the appropriate academic area or
faculty coordinator of the international program.
