VSB-Week 2011 is an annual event intended to celebrate and showcase Villanova School of Business initiatives, as well as expose students to emerging business trends. VSB-Week 2011 is focused on VSB’s strategic areas of business excellence: global leadership, technology, ethics, and innovation. These topics will be addressed through a combination of formal and informal events, with the goal of encouraging development of new skills, sharing of ideas, and progress as business leaders. The week will also include opportunities for personal growth through a variety of professional development and VSB community-building activities.

Each day’s programs and activities will be dedicated to highlighting one of VSB’s four pillars of excellence – global leadership, technology, ethics, and innovation.   • 9:00 A.M. - 10:00 A.M. – B-fast, B-global: International Business Networking Breakfast **#, Bartley 3055

  • Start your day off with good food and good conversation! Be part of this networking breakfast with alumni and other professionals who have had international work experience…and be inspired to create your own international career!   • 2:30 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. – Spotlight on Panama: VSB Students’ Perspective**, Bartley 1010

  • Did you know that for the past few years, Economics Professor David Fiorenza has run a student trip to Panama over spring break? Come hear (and see) about past trips from VSB students, as well as get Prof. Fiorenza’s insider view of Panama’s economy and the Panama Canal.

  • 3:30 P.M. - 4:45 P.M. – Green Solutions for Global Development**, Bartley 1001

  • Learn about global development with an emphasis on microfinance opportunities. Elizabeth Israel co-founder, principal and CEO of GreenMicrofinance will share her story on merging microfinance and the environment.

  • 5:30 P.M. - 8:30 P.M. – How To Dine & Act Fine: Business Etiquette Dinner**#, Dougherty East Lounge

  • Which fork do I use when? Which glass is mine? If you plan to enter the business world, you’re bound to face a working lunch or dinner and need answers to these kind of questions… Ann Marie Sabath, Founder of At Ease Inc. In a world where ambitious sustainability initiatives are rapidly coming into vogue, it is necessary to dispel the myth that “going green” means losing money. Join our three expert panelists (Dr. John Olson, Chairman, VU President’s Environmental Sustainability Committee; Tony Ziccardi, Vice President of Development, Brandywine Realty Trust; Libby Bernick, Five Winds International) as they debunk the myth and discuss how to they generate good will and a healthy ROI from their sustainability initiatives.
