Our MissionHabitat for Humanity Logo

Villanova University’s chapter of Habitat for Humanity seeks to promote awareness of poverty and homelessness not only within the Villanova community but in Philadelphia and throughout the country.  We believe this ambition is possible through our annual fundraising and education events as well as weekly build trips to the chapter’s affiliate, Montgomery County Habitat for Humanity, and week-long trips to other Habitat affiliates around the country.

Our Goals

Villanova University Habitat for Humanity plans to:

  1. Complete our third home sponsorship, with a price tag of $90,000 by spring of 2011.
  2. Publicize our efforts to the Villanova community and to educate students, faculty and staff about the need for affordable housing in Montgomery County.
  3. Advocate the need for affordable housing to our legislators through letter-writing campaigns.
  4. Educate local high-school, middle-school and elementary-school students about the work of Habitat for Humanity.

How to Get Involved

Friday and Saturday Build Trips

Sign-ups for Friday and Saturday build trips to work at Montgomery County Habitat will be posted one to two weeks before the date of the trip in Campus Ministry (St. Rita’s Hall).  The time of the sign-ups will vary; to ensure you receive the correct time.  Please note that trips fill up very quickly.  As there are only 5-7 spots, we advise you to put your name down as soon as the sign-up is posted.  For information please contact Tim O'Connell at 610-519-4084 or email timothy.oconnell@villanova.edu.

The available build dates for the 2011 Fall will be posted in August
