Application

Please! Before investing yourself in our application and interview process, take a few moments to read a little about who we are and what we do...

  • New Directions, sponsored by Campus Ministry, is a new student leadership program established this very year to provide positive social, academic, and future opportunities for High School Students of the Grey's Ferry section of Philadelphia.
  • Our goal as Mentors is to be positive and caring friends/leaders to the students.
  • Commitment to the program is critical and non-negotiable.
  • Regular phone calls, letters, and personal time aside our visits/outings are strongly encouraged.
  • There will be 2 outings per month (every other week), each will be 2-3 hours long.
  • Outing days will be determined based on the availability of you, the mentors.
  • The program is scheduled to begin in October and continue into November and December. The first meting will be announced upon interviewing.

Because the goal of the program is to develop a relationship between you and your student, we take our attendance policy extremely seriously. Attendance to new directions outings and meetings are absolutely mandatory. In addition, all mentors will be required to participate in at least one fundraiser each semester. Please be aware of these commitments, and acknowledge them.
