Students are registered to New Directions through their high schools, parishes and families. They range in age from 13-17 yrs, and generally come from underprivileged homes from the Greys Ferry area of Philadelphia. Many attend mass at St. Charles Borromeo Church, our co-operating partner in organizing the program. Some are having trouble in school, or at home, but they are amazing young adults and have been blessed with the potential to do great things! These students truly need the attention, companionship, and solidarity of a Big Brother or Big Sister, with whom they can be comfortable, confide in, and ultimately be themselves!
